We are a family-owned and operated welding and fabrication business looking for an experienced Draftsperson / Estimator to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with drafting and estimating experience who enjoys working closely with a workshop team and being involved in projects from initial quote through to fabrication.

About the Role

Working closely with management, customers and our workshop team, you will play an important part in planning, estimating and preparing projects for fabrication.

Your responsibilities will include

- Preparing accurate and detailed fabrication and workshop drawings
- Preparing quotes and tenders for new and existing projects
- Estimating materials, labour and overall project costs
- Assisting with project planning and scheduling
- Completing material take-offs and identifying project requirements
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and plans
- Liaising with the workshop team to ensure drawings are practical and fabrication-ready
- Working with suppliers and customers when required
- Monitoring changes to project scope and assisting with variations
- Maintaining accurate project, estimating and drawing documentation

About You We're looking for someone who is accurate, organized and understands how drawings and estimates translate into real work on the workshop floor.

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous experience as a Draftsperson,



Estimator or Draftsperson/Estimator
- Experience within welding, fabrication, structural steel, engineering or a similar environment
- Strong drafting and technical drawing skills
- Experience estimating materials, labour and project costs
- Ability to prepare accurate quotations and tenders
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
- Good computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and time management skills
- A practical, solutions-focused attitude
- The ability to work independently while also being part of a close-knit team
