? We’re Hiring: Dry Fire Tester / Fire Alarm Technician

Are you an experienced Dry Fire Tester / Fire Alarm Technician looking to join a growing team within the fire protection industry?

We’re looking for a skilled tester / technician to join our team, carrying out inspection, testing, maintenance, installation and commissioning of fire detection and electrical fire protection systems across commercial, industrial and residential projects.

What you’ll do

- Conduct routine inspection and testing of fire alarm systems in accordance with AS1851.
- Test EWIS systems, smoke detectors, heat detectors and manual call points (MCPs).
- Inspect and test exit and emergency lighting in accordance with AS2293.
- Carry out passive fire inspections, including fire doors and penetrations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults across fire alarm, EWIS and emergency lighting systems.
- Attend reactive service requests, breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
- Carry out repairs, replacements and defect rectification to restore systems to full working order.
- Identify faulty components, wiring issues and system malfunctions.
- Test and verify system functionality following repairs.
- Identify additional works and recommend repairs or replacement where required.




- Complete accurate service reports, breakdown records and compliance documentation.
- Escalate major defects and complex faults to management.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant Australian Standards and safety requirements.

What we’re looking for

- Experience in fire alarm inspection and testing.
- Robust understanding of AS1851 and fire safety compliance requirements.
- Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Certificate III in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing is preferred.
- FPAS accreditation is desirable.
- Experience working across commercial or industrial sites is an advantage.
