About the role

DirectBor is a Geelong-based civil and directional drilling contractor delivering underground electrical infrastructure across Greater Geelong and Western Melbourne. We're after an experienced excavator operator who wants consistent work on well-maintained gear.

Key responsibilities

- Trench and pit excavation for underground electrical reticulation, HV and LV
- Potholing and careful excavation around live electrical and other underground services
- Operating across the fleet, from mini excavators through to 30 tonne machines
- Backfill, compaction and reinstatement to client specification
- Daily pre-starts, defect reporting and looking after your machine
- Floating plant between sites where you hold the licence

About you

- Current VOC or statement of attainment for excavator operation (RIIMPO320 or equivalent)
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Demonstrated experience across multiple machine sizes
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Sound judgement working near live services
- HC or HR truck licence (highly regarded)
- VESI or ESI industry induction (highly regarded)
- Non-destructive digging (NDD)



or directional drilling experience (highly regarded)
- Traffic management or confined space tickets (highly regarded)

- $40 to $50 per hour depending on tickets and experience, paid weekly
- Real overtime. Overtime is offered, not compulsory, and earnings depend on the hours you work
- A 19-day month under our published RDO calendar, set a quarter ahead
- A fleet of more than 100 plant items, maintained properly, with a full time diesel mechanic
- Immediate start for the right operator
- Tickets and upskilling paid for, including VESI and additional plant competencies
