Positions are available for our 2027 Harvesting year. We are seeking 6 enthusiastic, reliable and capable Farm Workers to join our farming operation for up to 9 months.

Starting

March 2027 or September 2027.

We are a family-owned business within the Banana Industry, that provide year round production to wholesale markets in Brisbane and Sydney and are based in Far North Queensland- Innisfail QLD, Australia.

Your main duties will include both paddock and shed duties as below, but not limited to:

Harvesting (Banana Humping/picking)

Deleafing

Desuckering

Stacking

Packing

Dehanding

Bell Injecting

Bagging

Adhering to Food Safety Standards & Record keeping

Adhering to Workplace Health & Safety & Farm Biosecurity measures

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

The 6 positions are casual positions, working anywhere from 30 to 38hours per week. Wages will be paid at standard casual award rate under the Horticulture Award. (current rate Level 1 $32.18 per hour) .

Due to the high physical demands and regular periods of hot and humid and wet weather in Far North Queensland (FNQ), team members need to be work-fit and self motivated. Successful applicants need to be team players who can work efficiently and accurately.

To be considered for this role, its essential you have the following:

Available for minimum 6 month contract starting either March 2027 or September 2027

High level of motivation and commitment

Have a high level work performance/delivery

- MUST be physically fit and healthy, as it is a very labour -intensive work:
- You will be required to cut and carry banana bunches of up to 70kg for the shift (8hours)
- You will work 5 days a week in Banana Paddocks with uneven ground and often wet slippery conditions
- You will also be required to fulfill Packing Shed duties on packing days alongside your team
- You will be required to work in a team or on your own, depending on the duty
- You will be required to be reliable and available Monday to Friday and possibly weekends for at least 8 hours per day
- You will be required to operate farm vehicles and machinery in a protected manner

NOTE: Experience is not essential as on the job training will be provided. However, experience in similar outdoor working environments is essential due to the very hard and physically demanding aspects of the job.
