Shamwari Disability Support Services is seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced support worker to support a woman aged between 55 and 60 years living in Clovelly Park.

The participant would prefer a regular support worker who is mature, patient, understanding and able to build a positive, long-term working relationship.

Key Responsibilities

- Community Access: Transport and accompany the participant to appointments, shopping, social outings and community activities.

- Meal Preparation: Assist with preparing healthy, nutritious meals and grocery shopping.

- Household Support: Assist with cleaning, laundry, decluttering and home organisation.

- Gardening: Assist with light gardening and maintaining a safe, accessible home workplace.

- Social Participation: Encourage and support participation in community groups, Tai Chi, Chi Gong and other activities of interest.

- Independence: Support the participant to complete everyday tasks independently wherever possible.

- Mobility Equipment:



Safely load and unload a manual wheelchair weighing approximately 15 kg into and out of a vehicle, following appropriate manual handling procedures.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

- Is a support worker.

- Is mature, friendly, patient and compassionate.

- Has experience supporting people with physical disabilities or mobility limitations.

- Is comfortable assisting with domestic tasks, meal preparation and light gardening.

- Encourages independence, choice and community participation.

- Has a current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- Holds a valid driver's licence and has access to a reliable, appropriately insured vehicle.

- Can safely manage the wheelchair-handling requirements following assessment and training.

- Is reliable, flexible and interested in providing ongoing, consistent support.
