Fundraising & Partnerships Lead
Turn relationships into opportunities. Turn fundraising into life-changing impact.
At Dress for Success Victoria, we believe every woman deserves the opportunity to achieve economic independence and thrive in work and life.
We're looking for an energetic, commercially minded Fundraising & Partnerships Lead who shares that belief and has the drive, creativity and expertise to help us reach more women and change more lives.
This is an opportunity to make your mark in a purpose-driven organisation, build partnerships that matter and play a pivotal role in shaping our future.
About us
Dress for Success Victoria is a registered charity dedicated to empowering unemployed and underemployed women to achieve economic independence.
Through professional clothing, career coaching, employment development tools and a supportive network, we help women build the confidence, skills and opportunities they need to succeed.
Our services are provided free of charge, made possible through the generosity of our donors, corporate partners, volunteers and community supporters.
Every partnership we build and every dollar we raise helps a woman take another step towards a brighter future.
The opportunity
Reporting to the CEO, you'll lead the delivery and growth of our fundraising and partnerships program, helping secure the financial sustainability that allows us to expand our reach and impact.
You'll bring together strategic thinking, commercial flair and hands-on fundraising expertise to grow revenue, strengthen existing relationships and create exciting new opportunities.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be as comfortable developing a fundraising plan as you are picking up the phone, meeting prospective partners, writing a compelling proposal or securing a donation.
What you'll be doing
- Winning current support: Proactively identify, approach and secure corporate sponsors, philanthropic donors and funding partners.
- Building lasting relationships: Personally manage and nurture relationships with donors,
sponsors and supporters to encourage ongoing giving.
- Creating compelling proposals: Research opportunities, write funding submissions, develop sponsorship packages and turn conversations into financial commitments.
- Making campaigns happen: Plan, coordinate and deliver fundraising appeals, campaigns and events from concept through to completion.
- Growing our fundraising income: Develop and implement practical fundraising plans, manage a pipeline of opportunities and take ownership of achieving revenue targets.
- Keeping things on track: Maintain accurate CRM records, monitor fundraising performance, manage budgets and report on results.
- Working together: Collaborate with the CEO, colleagues and volunteers to deliver successful fundraising activities.
You'll be involved in every stage of the fundraising process — from the first conversation to celebrating a successful partnership..
About you
You're a confident, proactive fundraiser who enjoys the challenge of finding opportunities, building relationships and securing financial support.
You're commercially savvy, persuasive and resourceful, with a genuine passion for making a difference.
Most importantly, you're a hands-on achiever who enjoys doing the work, not just planning or overseeing it.
You'll bring
- A proven track record of personally securing fundraising income, corporate sponsorships, major gifts or philanthropic support.
- Experience delivering fundraising activities within the not-for-profit sector.
- Strong business development skills and the confidence to approach new prospects and ask for support.
- Excellent written communication skills, including preparing compelling proposals and funding submissions.
- Experience coordinating fundraising campaigns and events.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence using CRM systems.
- The ability to work independently, take initiative and deliver measurable results.
- A collaborative, positive attitude and the willingness to roll up your sleeves and contribute wherever needed.
You'll thrive in a small organisation where everyone contributes, ideas are welcomed and individual effort makes a real difference.
Why join Dress for Success Victoria?
Because your work will have purpose — and your results will matter.
You'll be part of a committed organisation where people, partnerships and community come together to create real change.
You'll enjoy
- Meaningful impact: Know that your work directly contributes to helping women build confidence, secure employment and achieve economic independence.
- Ownership and autonomy: Take responsibility for your fundraising initiatives, bring your ideas to life and see the direct results of your efforts.
- Room to create: Bring fresh thinking, innovative ideas and new approaches to growing partnerships and fundraising.
- A collaborative culture: Work alongside passionate colleagues, volunteers and supporters who believe in what we do.
- A rewarding challenge: Use your commercial and fundraising expertise to build something sustainable and make a lasting difference.
