Stawell Gold Mines currently has an opportunity for a Geological Sampler/Field Assistant to join our growing team of mining professionals.
Stawell Gold Mine is an underground gold mine located in Stawell; 236 km north-west of Melbourne. This historic region is known for its rich heritage in the exploration, discovery and production of gold.
Duties include
- Maintain accurate information collected from development headings while working with mining operations to provide minimal downtime to other activities
- Process Drill Core to a high degree of accuracy while maintaining a consistent workflow
- General housekeeping duties at the core farm and laboratory
- Be willing to participate in other areas of the operation as requested
Qualifications, skills, experience and other general requirements of the role:
- Current driver’s licence
- First Aid Level 2
- Forklift licence
- Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems
- Intermediate level of computer literacy
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and work effectively in a team workplace
- Ability to work unsupervised
- An Australian permanent resident
