About the role

We are seeking a Graduate or Intermediate Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis. Working closely with our partners, you will be involved in a broad range of tax and business services work, with hands-on exposure to all entity types from day one.

This is a full-time, office-based role in Mount Waverley, Monday to Friday. A start date in December 2026 is preferred.

Key responsibilities

- Processing client data in Xero, MYOB and HandiLedger through to trial balance, and preparing supporting workpapers
- Monthly bookkeeping and bank reconciliations for ongoing clients
- Preparing financial statements, including year-end adjusting journals (accruals, prepayments and depreciation), Profit and Loss Statements and Balance Sheets
- Preparing monthly and quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
- Preparing income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships
- Payroll processing, including Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting and superannuation
- General administrative support, including client file and document management

About you

Essential

- A degree in Accounting, or a Commerce/Finance degree with an accounting major




- Recent graduates or up to 2 years’ public practice experience
- Full Australian working rights
- A sound understanding of Australian taxation, including income tax and GST
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a wide range of people, including the ATO and ASIC
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of reports and documents
- Highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- A proactive, responsible and motivated approach to your work

Desirable

- Experience using Xero, MYOB and/or HandiLedger
- Currently completing, or committed to commencing, the CPA Program or CA Program

- A salary of $55,000–$65,000 plus superannuation, commensurate with experience
