Designing the pathways into circus

NICA is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Circus Trainer to lead the development and delivery of our NICA Rec program.

This is an exciting opportunity for a circus educator who can see potential and pathways into circus for students of all ages and abilities.

This role is perfect for a circus professional who:

Have experience developing and delivering recreational circus programs.

Are passionate about safe, inclusive, and engaging circus education.

Enjoy mentoring and developing other trainers.

Understand student development and progression through circus pathways.

Are enthusiastic about community engagement and program growth.

Key Responsibilities The Head Circus Trainer will be responsible for:

Leading the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of NICA Rec programs, curriculum, and learning resources.

Overseeing program quality, safety, and student experience.

Mentoring, developing,



and supporting Recreation Trainers through ongoing support and professional development.

Supporting student progression into advanced training, performance, and further study opportunities.

Identifying opportunities for program growth, community engagement, and strategic partnerships.

Maintaining high standards of safety, administration, and operational standards.

Working collaboratively with the Commercial Manager to support the strategic development of NICA Rec.

The role also requires maintaining the physical fitness and capability to safely deliver circus training, spot and support students, and model safe training practices.
