Laboratory Assistant – 3-Month Fixed-Term Contract (January–March)

Interested in working in clinical trials and gaining valuable experience in clinical research? Paratus Clinical Research Western Sydney is looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join our team on a 3-month fixed-term contract from January to March 2027.

This is a great chance for someone with laboratory experience who enjoys hands-on work, has strong attention to detail and is interested in contributing to the delivery of high-quality clinical research.

You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team, assisting with the processing, handling and preparation of biological samples across a variety of clinical research studies.

The Role:

This is a 3-month fixed-term, in office position from January to March 2027.

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following:

- Perform basic laboratory processing and handling of biological samples in accordance with study protocols and site procedures.

- Prepare and process samples, including centrifugation, aliquoting, labelling and storage.

- Ensure accurate sample identification, documentation and tracking.





- Assist with the preparation, packaging and shipment of biological samples as required.

- Maintain a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment.

- Follow study-specific procedures, laboratory guidelines and applicable safety requirements.

- Work collaboratively with Clinical Research Coordinators, Investigators and other members of the clinical research team.

- Support the timely and accurate processing of samples to ensure study requirements are met.

Essential Criteria

- Experience in basic laboratory processing and biological sample handling.

- Practical experience with centrifugation and aliquoting of samples.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow study protocols and standard operating procedures.

- Good organisational and time management skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to work.

- Availability to work during the January–March 2027 contract period.

Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience working in clinical trials or a clinical research environment.

- Experience with sample preparation, storage and shipment for clinical studies.

- Venepuncture/phlebotomy experience.

- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and clinical research procedures.
