Experienced Earthmoving Operator / Leading Hand

Join our growing team delivering earthworks and civil projects across the South Burnett and surrounding areas.

We’re looking for an experienced, reliable operator who can take ownership of jobs, work independently and help lead a small crew when required. You’ll need to confidently deliver quality work with minimal supervision, supported by our Operations Manager.

This position is for experienced operators only. It is not an entry-level or trainee role.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely and efficiently operate machinery within your experience and competency, including Excavators, Posi Tracks, Graders and Dozers

- Organise daily site activities and keep jobs progressing

- Guide a small crew when required, maintaining safe and productive work standards

- Read and follow plans, levels and job instructions

- Communicate professionally with clients, site supervisors and our Operations Manager

- Identify issues early and help find practical solutions

- Safely load, unload and secure machinery for transport within your licence and competency

- Care for your allocated truck, trailer and machinery

- Complete daily pre-start checks, basic maintenance and fault reporting

- Travel between local sites, with potential to work away with a crew

Skills & Experience

- Proven experience operating earthmoving machinery on construction or civil projects

- Experienced Excavator and/or Posi Track operators welcome—Grader,



Dozer and other machinery experience highly regarded

- You do not need experience on every machine, but must be competent and able to work independently on the machinery you operate

- Ability to achieve the required levels, specifications and finish with minimal supervision

- Previous leading hand or supervisory experience highly regarded

- Confidence organising daily tasks and providing direction to others when required

- Strong focus on safety, quality workmanship and equipment care

- Reliable, punctual and practical, with good communication skills

- HR or HC licence highly regarded—please include your licence class when applying
