Unigreen Food is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician for our food manufacturing factory in Bankstown. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, paying $48–$50 per hour gross, with superannuation paid in addition. Working days and start/finish times will be discussed during recruitment.
Essential requirements
- A practical electrical background.
- Hands-on mechanical fitting experience.
- Basic understanding of PLC-controlled machinery.
- Practical troubleshooting skills and a safe approach to working around production machinery.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out preventative maintenance and respond to machinery breakdowns.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and repair or replace components within your skills and qualifications.
- Apply electrical knowledge and basic PLC understanding to assist with equipment troubleshooting.
- Work with production staff to identify recurring problems and reduce downtime.
- Follow machinery isolation, workplace safety and food hygiene procedures.
- Maintain clear maintenance and repair records.
- Perform electrical work only within the scope of your licence or authorisation; refer restricted work to an appropriately licensed electrician.
Preferred, but not essential
- A current electrician’s licence valid for the work in NSW.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Experience maintaining food manufacturing or processing equipment.
- Ability to understand and communicate in Chinese and/or Vietnamese, to support communication with our production team. Either language is sufficient; please specify the language or dialect you speak.
Hours and pay
- Full time, 40 hours per week.
- $48–$50 per hour before tax, excluding superannuation; super is paid in addition.
- Working days and start/finish times discussed during recruitment.
- Applicable overtime, penalties and other entitlements will be paid in accordance with the relevant award or agreement.
