This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced Market Operations team and build broader exposure across financial markets, middle office operations and trade settlement.

Your new role

As a Market Operations Officer, you will join a Sydney-based team responsible for ensuring trades received from fund managers and other areas of the business are correctly matched, instructed and successfully settled across a range of financial products and markets.

This is a broad middle-office role covering equities, fixed income, FX and derivatives, with exposure to products including repos, NCDs, swaps, swaptions, futures and cash products.

Your responsibilities will include

- Match, confirm and settle trades across equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives and cash products.
- Monitor and settle future cash flows associated with relevant products.
- Investigate and resolve failed trades, settlement issues and cash breaks.
- Liaise with fund managers, brokers, dealers, counterparties and internal teams to resolve booking and settlement issues.
- Support manual cash payments and other middle-office activities.
- Assist with the setup of new trading counterparties.
- Manage queries through the team inbox and ensure responses are delivered within required timeframes.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external market participants.
- Review existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Participate in cross-training, upskilling and broader Market Operations projects.





What you'll need to succeed You will ideally have previous experience within middle office, settlements, custody, fund management operations or a related financial markets environment.

You will also bring

- An understanding of the trade settlement and broader post-trade lifecycle.
- Exposure to one or more asset classes such as equities, fixed income, FX or derivatives.
- A good understanding of custody, fund management and how different participants interact throughout the trade lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve trade and cash breaks.
- Good time management and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast-paced workplace.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive approach and willingness to broaden your knowledge across products and different areas of Market Operations.

Candidates with more limited experience will also be considered where they can demonstrate a good understanding of custody, fund management and financial markets. What you'll get in return
