The Banyans provides individualised residential and day programs for people recovering from burnout, anxiety, depression, grief and dependence-related conditions. Every program is medically overseen and built around a comprehensive medical and psychological assessment, and our guests are generally highly functional people who have been running at capacity for years before they arrive. Bodywork is a meaningful part of how they begin to recover.

We are looking for an experienced massage therapist to join us on a fixed term contract through to February 2027, working alongside our clinical and wellbeing team.

About the role

You will deliver one-to-one remedial and therapeutic massage to guests as part of their individualised program, working in a calm residential setting with a small number of guests at any one time. You will liaise with the clinical team about guest needs and contraindications, maintain accurate treatment notes, and contribute to a therapeutic environment where people feel safe and cared for.

What you will bring

Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52021) or equivalent, with demonstrated remedial practice experience





Current membership of a recognised skilled association

Current first aid and CPR certification

Working with Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain

Sound understanding of trauma informed care, contraindications and when to refer

Discretion, warmth and professional judgement in working with guests who value their privacy

Details

Fixed term employment contract to February 2027

15 hours per week, with additional hours available from time to time by mutual agreement

Rate is commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus superannuation

Based at our residences in the Samford area, with parking available and staff meals available

Treatment room, equipment, consumables and insurances provided
