Mechanical Design Engineer, Heavy Vehicles

Permanent, full-time, on-site

South East Queensland My client designs and manufactures specialised vehicles and technical equipment. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team in South East Queensland on a permanent basis.

The role

- Develop concept and detailed designs for specialised vehicles and equipment
- Produce detailed design drawings for manufacture
- Carry out weight distribution and other engineering analysis
- Work to an engineering schedule alongside the workshop
- Support customers and suppliers with technical advice
- Create technical documentation, work instructions and BOMs
- Review existing products for improvement and ongoing compliance with Australian requirements
- Work closely with engineers and hands-on workshop personnel

About you

- Strong heavy vehicle design experience
- Experience with ADRs and NHVR requirements




- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient in SolidWorks
- Hands-on and practical, and comfortable working in a workshop environment
- Collaborative with strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Creative problem solver with strong engineering fundamentals
