Operations Manager / 2IC

At Newcastle Office Interiors (NOI), our integrated services combine workplace design, project management, internal construction, commercial furniture and custom joinery, allowing us to deliver projects seamlessly from initial concept through to final handover.

We’re a family-owned and operated business with more than 12 years of experience creating exceptional workplaces. Today, our close-knit team of around 17 people delivers projects for a diverse range of clients, from small local businesses, to government organisations and national and international companies, while maintaining the supportive culture that has been at the heart of our success from day one.

We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to become the right-hand person to our Managing Director and help lead the business into its next stage of growth.

This is primarily an office-based leadership role where you'll oversee day-to-day operations across the entire business, support and mentor our team, drive accountability, improve processes and ensure projects and clients are running smoothly. You'll be the person who keeps all the moving parts (and people) connected.

What you'll be doing

- Leading and supporting a close-knit team across all facets of the business (office, installation, furniture sales, and projects / construction)
- Overseeing day-to-day business operations and workflow planning
- Working closely with the Managing Director as the business's 2IC
- Driving continuous improvement,



efficiency and accountability across the business
- Supporting project delivery teams to ensure excellent client outcomes
- Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Helping create a positive, engaged and high-performing workplace culture

About you

You'll be a natural leader who enjoys bringing people together, solving problems and making things happen.

You'll likely have

- Experience in an operations, business management or senior leadership role
- Robust people leadership and communication skills
- Commercial acumen and sound decision-making ability
- The confidence to lead a team while remaining approachable and supportive
- Experience within construction, fitout, furniture, manufacturing or a similar project-based environment would be highly regarded
