About The Company
CircuIT Recruitment Group is recruiting on behalf of a large-scale agriculture company with a national footprint and an ambitious transformation agenda. The organisation is investing in its data capabilities to make operational information more accessible, reliable and useful across its business. With teams and operations spanning multiple regions, it is focused on turning diverse data into practical insights that support better day-to-day decisions and long-term planning.
You will join a growing data function at an important stage in its development. The team is building the reporting foundations, practices and tools needed to support a broad range of stakeholders. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful business outcomes while helping shape how business intelligence is delivered as the organisation continues to mature its data capability.
About The Role
As a Power BI Developer, you will take ownership of reporting solutions from initial data discovery through to development, release and ongoing improvement. You will bring together information from operational systems across different regions, prepare and model the data, and create dashboards that make key performance measures clear and actionable.
Working closely with stakeholders across the transformation function, you will identify the questions that matter and translate them into effective reporting. You will also help establish consistent approaches to report development and documentation. In addition to your delivery responsibilities,
you will provide practical technical guidance to a junior developer, sharing knowledge and supporting their professional growth.
This role suits an experienced Power BI practitioner who enjoys hands-on development and is ready to take greater ownership of work.
Qualifications
Applicants should bring commercial experience delivering Power BI solutions, ideally at a mid-to-senior level. You will have advanced DAX skills and strong SQL capability for querying, transforming and preparing data for reporting. A sound understanding of data modelling is essential, including the ability to design and structure schemas rather than relying solely on existing models.
You should have hands-on experience managing report access and applying granular permissions. We are looking for someone comfortable taking responsibility for a solution end to end, with clear communication skills and the confidence to work effectively with both technical colleagues and non-technical stakeholders. The ability to informally mentor or upskill a junior team member is key.
Experience with livestock, primary production or regional operational data is advantageous, as is familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Synapse or comparable data services.
Experience helping establish or mature a business intelligence function will also be valued.
Responsibilities
Develop,
maintain and continuously improve a suite of Power BI dashboards used across the organisation. Integrate data from operational systems used in different regions, and use SQL to query, validate and prepare information before it reaches reports. Build and maintain reliable data models, write DAX measures that turn raw figures into meaningful business metrics, and manage access controls so users see appropriate information.
Partner with stakeholders to understand their objectives, clarify reporting requirements and recommend useful measures. Own assigned work from initial investigation through to a finished, well-documented dashboard. Promote consistent reporting practices as the data team grows, troubleshoot and enhance existing solutions, and provide day-to-day technical support and guidance to the junior developer.
Benefits
Join a growing data team where your work will support decisions across a nationally operating agriculture business. You will have the opportunity to own end-to-end reporting deliverables, contribute to the development of the organisation’s BI practices and share your expertise with a junior colleague. The position is permanent and full-time, based in Melbourne CBD with a hybrid arrangement of three office days per week. The salary range is $120,000 to $140,000 plus superannuation.
Equal Opportunity
CircuIT Recruitment Group and its client are committed to fair and inclusive recruitment. Applications are welcomed from people of all backgrounds and experiences. Candidates will be considered on their skills, qualifications and suitability for the role, without discrimination on the basis of personal characteristics protected by applicable law.
