Program Lead – Sustainable Agriculture | Albany, WA

Lead a team helping South Coast farmers build productive, resilient landscapes.

Farming shapes much of the South Coast, one of the world’s most important biodiversity hotspots. How land is managed here matters for our farming communities and for the nature around them, and this role sits right where the two meet.

South Coast Natural Resource Management is an independent, community-based organisation in Western Australia’s South Coast region. We provide leadership and expertise in natural resource management, conservation, sustainability and community capacity. Our vision is for thriving, diverse regional communities where nature is valued, protected and restored. We acknowledge and collaborate with Noongar Traditional Owners across the region.

We’re looking for an experienced Program Lead to join our Sustainable Agriculture team. The role will lead program delivery in Albany, supervise Sustainable Agriculture Program staff, provide strategic direction and manage stakeholder relationships across the region. You’ll be a confident people leader who enjoys building a robust team and seeing projects delivered well.

Key responsibilities include:

- Project and financial management of assigned project/s. Lead effective delivery of project activities and outcomes.
- Supervision and management of multiple Project Coordinators, including recruiting new team members.
- Project reporting responsibilities, including compiling, reviewing and drafting of all required reporting for Executive review and submission.

- Liaise with and coordinate key stakeholders to foster effective communication and collaboration to ensure effective project delivery and reporting.
- Communication and awareness-raising responsibilities for the broader sustainable agriculture program.
- Solve problems and keep things on track when projects or programs don’t go to plan.

This is a varied leadership role in a purpose-driven organisation, guiding a capable team to deliver projects that make a real difference across the South Coast. And you’ll get to call Albany home, with its beaches, wild coastline and relaxed pace of life. The position will be based in Albany, WA, and is offered at 1.0 FTE at a salary range of $115,000 to $130,000 plus Superannuation.

Please refer to the Position Description, available at https://southcoastnrm.com.au/vacancies/, for details.

To be considered for the role, submit your CV and cover letter to [email protected].

Your cover letter should demonstrate your skills and experience against the Essential and Desirable requirements as outlined in the Position Description.

Don’t tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you. South Coast NRM values diversity and encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and from people of all backgrounds, abilities and identities.
