Jeff Jones Real Estate
Stones Corner
At Jeff Jones, we believe great real estate careers start with relationships.
This role suits someone who is good with people and wants to start a long-term career in property management. You don’t need to have worked in real estate. You’ll learn how we do it through a structured induction, hands-on work with experienced team members and external training.
Our owners are our clients. Your job is to manage their tenancy for them and be the person they trust, so they’re never left chasing.
What you’ll be doing For owners:
- Being their trusted point of contact: keeping them informed, answering their questions and getting their instructions
- Managing their tenancy obligations: knowing what’s due and when, staying ahead of it, and keeping the owner informed so nothing catches them by surprise
- Balancing rental income with keeping a good tenant, and talking through the options with the owner, including at lease renewal.
For tenants
- Being their point of contact for requests and concerns about their home, and responding promptly
- Organising repairs with our trusted tradespeople and keeping tenants updated until it’s done
- Remembering that it’s their home: treating every request with care and explaining clearly what happens next
Behind the scenes
- Learning Queensland tenancy law and our compliance processes, so that every property’s obligations are met and tracked
- Using our systems and processes to keep track of what’s due, so important things aren’t missed
A typical day might include a call with an owner about a repair quote, arranging a tradesperson for a tenant’s leaking tap, following up a tenant who is behind on rent, and checking that nothing is due on your properties this week.
What we’re looking for
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- A skilled approach to client relationships
- A proactive, positive attitude
- A current driver’s licence (company vehicles are available for out-of-office appointments)
Property experience is helpful but not essential. A background in customer service, retail or hospitality is a great start. You’ll need a real estate salesperson registration within three months of starting. You can start before you hold it, and we’ll support you through the course.
Your first 12 months
- First weeks: Structured induction into our systems and how we work. You’ll learn alongside experienced team members and start getting to know the portfolio.
- Up to 3 months: Build your day-to-day skills, learn when to handle something yourself and when to pass it to an experienced colleague, and complete your registration.
- 3–6 months: Take on more of the portfolio yourself, with support on complex situations.
- 6–12 months: Manage with confidence, with guidance on the harder situations.
What you’ll get
- Full time, 38 hours, Monday to Friday, with flexibility around start and finish times. Four days a week is also considered
- No on-call or after-hours rota
- External training, including a Real Estate Excellence membership, plus hands-on training from our team leader with our Managing Director involved
- Standard full-time leave and conditions
