QUALIFIED MECHANIC — UP TO $110,000 + SUPER

Eastern Colour | Applethorpe / Stanthorpe | Immediate start available

Are you a qualified mechanic looking for variety, a great team and a contemporary, well-equipped workshop?

Eastern Colour is a family-owned apple and strawberry farming business on the Granite Belt. We’re looking for a qualified mechanic to join our workshop team as soon as possible.

Light-vehicle mechanics are encouraged to apply. If your experience is mainly cars, utes and vans, we’d like to hear from you. Agricultural, heavy diesel or fixed-plant experience is a bonus, but isn’t essential. Solid mechanical skills, reliability and a willingness to learn are what matter.

The job

Reporting directly to our Workshop Manager, you’ll service, diagnose and repair a varied fleet of petrol and diesel vehicles, farm machinery and packing-shed equipment.

Our equipment includes cars, utes, vans, trucks, tractors, forklifts, cherry pickers, spray rigs, side-by-sides, JCB machinery and fixed plant.

You won’t be expected to know every machine from day one. You will need to work independently within your skills, troubleshoot problems and take pride in keeping equipment safe, reliable and well maintained.

Your work will include

- Routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs.
- Responding to breakdowns and helping minimise downtime.

- Keeping accurate maintenance and service records.
- Working safely and communicating with the Workshop Manager.

What you’ll bring

- A mechanic trade qualification.
- Sound diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- A high standard of workmanship.
- A current driver’s licence.
- Reliability, initiative and a willingness to learn.

What we offer

- Salary up to $110,000 per year plus super, depending on experience and the agreed working arrangement.
- Permanent employment with paid annual leave, personal/carer’s leave and other applicable entitlements.
- Stable, year-round work.
- A modern workshop with quality tools and equipment.
- A supportive team and direct support from our Workshop Manager.
- Plenty of variety and opportunities to broaden your skills.

The preferred roster is five days per week, including either Saturday or Sunday. The role involves 38 ordinary hours plus reasonable additional hours, with total hours potentially reaching 48 per week.

We’re flexible. If different hours or a different roster would suit you better, let’s discuss it.

Interested?

Send us your résumé, or a brief outline of your qualifications and experience, along with your current location and when you could start.

This vacancy is for applicants currently in Australia with existing work rights who can work on site at Applethorpe. Visa sponsorship is not available for this advertised position.
