ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN - MANUFACTURING / QA-QC

PCB Assembly | Electronics Testing | Contract Manufacturing Experience | Quality Inspection

Port Kembla / Wollongong, NSW | Permanent, Full-Time | On-Site

We are looking for a practical, hands-on Electronics Manufacturing Technician with experience in electronics manufacturing, production testing, quality inspection and fault-finding.

This is an opportunity to join an established Australian electronics design and manufacturing operation, working alongside production, process and quality engineers.

THE WORK

- Incoming inspection of electronic components, PCBs, cables, connectors and assemblies.
- In-process QA/QC inspections , defect identification and quality records.
- Overseeing production testing and investigating failed electronic assemblies.
- Electronics fault-finding, hand soldering, PCB rework and repair.
- Maintaining test stations, fixtures and production equipment.
- Managing non-conforming materials, NCRs and corrective actions.
- Supporting ESD compliance, calibration and production quality.
- Using ERP/MES systems for inspection results and manufacturing traceability.
- Helping operators resolve technical issues and improve production processes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR (ideally!)




- Approximately 2-4 years' experience in electronics manufacturing, inspection or production testing.
- Relevant electronics/electrical trade or technical qualification.
- Strong practical soldering and electronics fault-finding capability.
- Ability to read schematics, engineering drawings, BOMs and work instructions.
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment, ESD controls and quality procedures.
- A methodical approach to problem-solving and accurate documentation.

Experience with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-7711/7721, ISO 9001, MES/ERP systems or wave soldering equipment would be advantageous. This is a hands-on manufacturing floor position , not a desk-based engineering or purely administrative quality role.
