About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Bottleshop Second-in-Charge (2IC) to join our team at Bottlemart Boondall.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced retail professional who enjoys working with people,



has a genuine interest in the liquor industry and is ready to take on additional leadership responsibilities.

Working closely with the Retail Store Manager, you will support the daily operations of the store, help guide and develop team members, maintain high retail standards and contribute to a positive customer experience.

You will also take responsibility for the store in the Retail Store Manager's absence, demonstrating sound judgement, initiative and confidence in managing day-to-day operations.

This is a hands-on position combining customer service, stock management, merchandising and team leadership. While previous leadership experience is highly regarded, we are equally interested in candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, strong work ethic and genuine potential to develop into a successful retail leader.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Retail Store Manager in coordinating daily store operations and maintaining high operational standards.

- Take responsibility for store operations in the Retail Store Manager's absence.

- Deliver friendly, knowledgeable and professional customer service.

- Assist customers with product recommendations across wine, craft beer, spirits and other beverages.

- Provide day-to-day guidance, support and training to retail team members.

- Lead by example, promoting teamwork, accountability and a positive workplace culture.

- Assist with stock control, ordering, receiving deliveries, invoice processing and stock replenishment.

- Maintain accurate cash handling, POS transactions and store procedures.

- Support merchandising initiatives, promotional campaigns and product displays.

- Ensure the store is clean, organised, safe and presented to a consistently high standard.

- Maintain compliance with responsible service of alcohol requirements, liquor licensing legislation and workplace health and safety procedures.





- Work collaboratively with the Retail Store Manager and wider retail management team to identify opportunities for improvement.

- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications & Experience

- Current Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification — essential.

- Current driver's licence and reliable transport — essential.

- Previous retail or liquor industry experience, with a minimum of six months' relevant experience.

- Previous experience supervising, training or supporting team members — highly regarded.

- Knowledge of wine, craft beer and boutique spirits — advantageous.

- Experience with stock control, ordering and invoice processing — advantageous.

- Current forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one with business support — advantageous.
