We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on Retail Bakery Manager to lead the front-of-house operations. You’ll manage the retail team, oversee daily trading and make sure customers get consistently excellent service. You’ll work closely with the baking team and report directly to the business owner.

responsibilities Manage daily retail operations, including opening and closing procedures, customer service and staff supervision. Recruit, train and support retail staff, prepare rosters and allocate duties. Monitor sales performance, operating expenses and stock levels to achieve business targets.

Manage product presentation, merchandising, pricing and promotional activities. Coordinate with the baking team to maintain product availability and align production with customer demand. Oversee stock ordering, deliveries, stocktakes and wastage control.

Manage point-of-sale operations, cash handling and daily reconciliations.



Resolve customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally. Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.

Report to the business owner on sales, staffing and operational performance. Qualification &

experience At least two years of relevant retail management experience, preferably in a bakery or food retail business. Demonstrated experience supervising staff, preparing rosters and coordinating daily operations.

Experience managing inventory, cash handling, sales reporting and operating costs. Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety practices. A relevant qualification in retail management, business or a related field is desirable. Availability to work a roster that may include early mornings, weekends and public holidays.
