Fuel is a 100% Australian-owned fuel company that started in 2010 with a single station and has grown into a national business, running service stations alongside bulk and onsite diesel supply, its own tanker fleet and a fuel card for business fleets. The group holds ISO certification for quality, environmental management and workplace health and safety. Our client is now looking for an experienced Retail Manager to lead the site, someone who enjoys running a busy forecourt and store, keeps a close eye on the numbers and takes pride in a well-run team.

Key Responsibilities

- Recruit, induct and roster console operators and store staff, train them in fuel sales, the point-of-sale system, cash handling and customer service, and supervise their work across each shift.
- Serve customers at the console during busy periods, process fuel and in-store sales, and give practical advice on the right fuel grade for their vehicles, machinery and equipment and on the products available in store.
- Decide the range carried in the convenience store, set stock levels for shop lines and each fuel grade, and set the service standards the team must meet on the forecourt and at the counter.
- Track fuel prices across Gympie, set and update pump and shelf prices, report price changes as Queensland fuel price reporting rules require, and apply purchasing and marketing policies when ordering fuel and shop stock through suppliers and the Atlas Fuel supply team.
- Promote the site through price boards, in-store specials,



local social media and community contacts, and introduce the Atlas Fuel Card to local trade, farm and fleet customers.
- Prepare the site's annual and monthly budgets, set sales and margin targets, and keep wages, consumables and other running costs within budget.
- Keep accurate records of tank dips and fuel stock reconciliations, shop stock counts, deliveries, daily takings, banking and refunds, and report sales, margins and variances to management.
- Run the site's workplace health and safety system, including spill and fire response, dangerous goods storage, secure tanker deliveries, forecourt hazard checks, staff safety training and incident reporting, in line with Queensland WHS laws and Atlas Fuel procedures.
- Oversee opening and closing routines, cash security and CCTV, site cleanliness and presentation, pump and equipment faults with service contractors, and customer feedback and complaints.

Qualifications and Experience

- At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Retail Manager or in a similar service station, convenience store or retail management role.
- An AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma.

Hours: 38 hours per week - Full-time

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation per annum
