Downer is seeking an experienced RF Engineer IBC to join our Technology and Communications Services team, supporting the design and delivery of indoor wireless solutions across Australia.

Working within a multidisciplinary project team, you will be responsible for completing IBC and BTS site designs, including DAS plumbing, supporting the addition of 4G and 5G technologies across new and existing sites. Your work will span environments such as commercial buildings, shopping centres, stadiums, airports, tunnels, rail networks and mining facilities.

You will work closely with project managers, designers, engineers, field crews, RF assessors and equipment vendors to ensure solutions meet customer requirements, EME standards and project delivery expectations. You will also support field activities through the For Construction and As Built phases, helping ensure sites are constructed in accordance with the approved RF design.

Key responsibilities include

- Completing IBC and BTS designs for 4G and 5G networks
- Producing DAS plumbing diagrams using iBwave
- Coordinating preliminary and detailed designs, site inspections and feasibility activities
- Supporting site visits including scoping, design inspections, inductions, HSE and quality activities
- Ensuring designs meet applicable customer requirements and Australian EME standards
- Supporting field teams with commissioning, integration and network performance issues
- Troubleshooting RF and build issues including PIM, MIMO, VSWR,



faulty hardware and swapped feeders
- Maintaining engineering standards, technical documentation and accurate project reporting
- Working closely with project and construction teams to deliver quality outcomes right first time What we're looking for

You will be an experienced RF Engineer with strong hands on knowledge of IBC and DAS design within the Australian telecommunications market.

Ideally, you will bring:

- A tertiary qualification in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- A minimum of three years Australian experience delivering IBC DAS designs

- Expertise with BTS rack materials
- Strong experience producing DAS plumbing diagrams using iBwave
- Knowledge of IBC Category 1 EME limits, PRD inputs and EME mitigation solutions
- Experience conducting walk test surveys using TEMS, NEMO or XCAL
- Robust knowledge of ARPANSA RPS S1 and AMTA Base Station Design Guidelines
- Understanding of ACMA registration requirements
- Advanced experience with RFNSA and RF Map2
- Experience with RF planning tools such as iBwave, Planet, Atoll or Asset
- Exposure to Ericsson, Nokia or Huawei RAN OSS and performance management tools
- Experience analysing network performance KPIs and identifying RF or construction issues Experience with LTE and 5G NR,



radio network optimisation, Ericsson or Nokia 5G integration and Australian carrier IBC standards will be highly regarded. iBwave Level 3 certification and knowledge of private LTE, IoT, rail, mining or defence wireless environments would also be advantageous.
