Bathurst Base Hospital is seeking a Registered Midwife to join its midwifery team on a 10-week contract commencing 9 November 2026. This is an excellent chance to contribute to maternity care in a busy regional hospital setting, supporting mothers and families through pregnancy, labour, and the early postnatal period. The role offers hands-on clinical experience in a supportive healthcare environment.

- Deliver direct midwifery care across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal services

- 10-week contract position with a clear end date of 18 January 2027

- Work within a collaborative midwifery team at a regional hospital

Preferred Requirements

- Current registration as a Midwife with the relevant regulatory body





- Demonstrated midwifery experience in a hospital or clinical setting

- Sound clinical knowledge of normal and complicated pregnancy, labour, and birth

- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

- Strong communication skills and a woman-centred approach to care

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent qualification recognised by the regulatory authority

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife

- Additional qualifications in specialised areas such as high-risk pregnancy or neonatal care are advantageous
