About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional looking to build their career within a highly regarded, regionally based transport business.

Based in Wodonga, you will work closely with our Safety Manager and broader safety team, alongside compliance and injury management professionals, to support and promote a strong safety culture across the business.

This diverse role combines site-based safety activities, investigations, training, compliance and safety systems administration, with occasional travel to RFT sites and customer locations.

Key responsibilities

- Promote safe work practices and support compliance with legislative, company and customer requirements

- Conduct site inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments

- Investigate incidents and injuries and recommend corrective actions

- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of safety systems and documentation

- Attend and contribute to toolbox talks, HSR meetings and safety initiatives

- Deliver safety training and provide ongoing support to employees and managers

- Coordinate drug and alcohol testing and vaccination programs

About You

You are a practical,



proactive and people-focused safety professional who enjoys working closely with employees to improve workplace safety outcomes.

Skills & Experience

- Heavy vehicle industry knowledge and experience (essential)

- Robust understanding of workplace safety principles and practices

- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

- Ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture

- Well-developed organisational, administrative and computer skills

- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

- Current driver's licence with a satisfactory driving record

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)

- Experience developing and delivering training programs (desirable)
