About the role

As an Embryologist, you'll join our collaborative Brisbane laboratory team, working alongside experienced scientists and leaders in a high-performing workplace. You will contribute to laboratory services that support patients throughout their fertility journey, applying your existing skills and developing your expertise across a full range of services.

We are seeking an early-career embryologist with practical experience who is ready to broaden their skills in a fast-paced laboratory offering a full range of fertility services. While candidates with clinical embryology experience are preferred, a suitably qualified graduate scientist may also be considered.

Your responsibilities and development will be tailored to your experience and demonstrated competencies, supported by regular feedback and competency sign-off. If appointed as a graduate scientist, you will receive structured, supervised training to progress towards a fully trained scientist role.

Depending on your level of competency, you will perform or undertake training in:

- Safe laboratory practice, including specimen handling, chain of custody and witnessing, aseptic technique, quality control,



equipment care and laboratory information systems.
- Embryology procedures, including sperm preparation, oocyte handling, fertilisation and embryo checks, embryo culture, media preparation, and oocyte and embryo warming.
- More complex procedures, such as embryo transfer, vitrification, ICSI and cryostorage management, with supervision and further training as required.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and data, following approved procedures, and contributing to productivity, quality, performance and compliance standards while working with our multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, accurate and compassionate patient care.

Full-time and part-time role parental leave contracts, with potential for future professional opportunities. Once suitably trained, you will participate in a rotating weekend and on-call roster.

About you

You are passionate about science and patient care and are looking to build or further your career in clinical embryology. Whether you are an experienced embryologist or a early career graduate, you are eager to learn, committed to quality, and thrive in a collaborative team environment. You will bring:

- A degree in biological,



health or related sciences (postgraduate embryology/reproductive science qualifications highly regarded)
- A strong interest in assisted reproductive technology (ART) and clinical embryology
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and patient safety
- Strong communication, organisational and time management skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and laboratory systems
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, RTAC standards, quality systems and relevant legislation
