DDP Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior AWS Platform Engineer to support a major Australian Government department.

The successful candidate will join an established team responsible for maintaining and enhancing a critical AWS cloud setting supporting enterprise identity and access management services.

Role Details

- Location: ACT, NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS or NT
- Working arrangements: Hybrid
- Contract: 12 months + 2 x 12-month extensions
- Start date: 1 December 2026
- Security clearance: Must be eligible to obtain Baseline

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring security, reliability and availability.
- Administer Amazon EKS and Kubernetes environments, including upgrades, patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Develop infrastructure automation to improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor and optimise cloud performance, capacity and infrastructure costs.
- Maintain monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch and Dynatrace.
- Implement AWS security controls, including IAM, IRSA, RBAC, WAF and secrets management.




- Maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Argo CD.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, undertake root cause analysis and implement improvements.

Skills and Experience

- Minimum 3 years' experience in AWS cloud infrastructure engineering and operational support.
- Strong experience administering Amazon EKS and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Sound understanding of AWS security architecture and vulnerability management.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps and automated deployments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting business-critical environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and security teams.

Highly Regarded

- Previous Australian Government experience.
- Knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Essential Eight.
- AWS or Kubernetes certifications, including AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer or CKA.
