Senior Database Architect

Employment Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Potential to Become Permanent)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Architect to lead a Customer Data Technical Knowledge and Assurance Programme for CM3. The role will focus on understanding, documenting and assuring a complex enterprise data environment, including database architecture, data models, data lineage, governance, security and reporting dependencies.

You will work closely with product, development, IT and infrastructure teams to establish a comprehensive technical knowledge repository and support future database optimisation and data-platform improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead database discovery, assessment and documentation across multiple data platforms.
- Reverse-engineer database schemas, relationships, data models and business logic.
- Map end-to-end data flows and lineage across applications, APIs and reporting systems.
- Perform data profiling, quality assessments and data classification.
- Review database security, access controls, RBAC and user permissions.
- Design repeatable data extraction and reconciliation processes.
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, architecture documentation and technical runbooks.
- Identify database risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities.
- Support database performance tuning, reliability and future data-platform enhancements.

Key Skills & Experience
- Significant experience as a Senior Database Architect, Database Engineer, Senior DBA or Data Platform Architect.
- Strong hands-on experience with MySQL 8 and AWS Aurora MySQL.




- Experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB, OpenSearch and AWS S3.
- Robust understanding of database architecture, data modelling, schema discovery and data lineage.
- Experience with Kafka, Debezium and data pipelines.
- Knowledge of database security, RBAC, access controls and data governance.
- Experience in data profiling, data quality, extraction and reconciliation.
- Strong SQL and scripting skills.
- Experience documenting complex enterprise or legacy database environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering

Pay: $160,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year
