For over 60 years, we have been a leader in our industry. We are now looking for a motivated and experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join our Schiavello Manufacturing team.

We are specifically seeking candidates with experience in Brake Press operations. If you have experience in this—of these specialist areas and are looking to join a respected Australian manufacturer, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will play a key role in our manufacturing operations, producing high-quality sheet metal components and finished products to exact specifications. This hands-on role involves fabrication, machine operation, assembly, and quality control, with a focus on Brake Press.

Key Responsibilities

- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine job requirements, materials, and equipment needed.

- Select and inspect sheet metal materials such as stainless steel, galvanised steel, mild steel, aluminium, and copper to ensure compliance with specifications.

- Measure and mark out materials using templates, gauges, and precision measuring tools.

- Cut sheet metal using hand tools and machinery including guillotines, shears, and drills.





- Shape and form materials using Brake Press machinery, along with folding and bending machines, rollers, presses, and other fabrication tools.

- Assemble and fit components into finished products through welding, riveting, soldering, brazing, and other joining techniques.

- Perform finishing tasks such as polishing, filing, sanding, and cleaning to achieve required quality standards.

- Carry out repairs and modifications to damaged or non-conforming sheet metal components where required.

- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work workplace in accordance with OH&S; standards.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience as a Sheet Metal Worker in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

- Demonstrated experience operating Brake Press machinery.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Commitment to workplace health and safety standards.

- Forklift licence (highly desirable).
