AIC is Seeking Speech Pathologist – School Based - Perth, WA

Full-time or Part Time (if that is possible) | $90,000–$100,000 per annum

Australian Islamic College (AIC) is a faith based school community serving more than 5,500 students across five Perth campuses and one campus in Adelaide. We are seeking a Speech Pathologist to support students across our Perth schools.

You will work with children and adolescents with a range of communication needs, including students with diagnosed learning or developmental needs as well as students who may benefit from assessment and/or early support. Working closely with students, families, teachers and our Occupational Therapist, you will help our diverse range of students, from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, to build their communication skills and participate more fully in learning.

The role involves travel between AIC’s Perth school. Full-time preferred, but part-time arrangements may be available.

About the role

You will

- Assess students’ speech, language, communication and literacy needs
- Conduct observations and screening, prepare reports, and recommend strategies and supports

- Work with students, families, teachers, external providers and our Occupational Therapist
- Contribute to Individual Education Plans, NCCD processes and student advocacy
- Help build staff confidence through consultation and professional learning

- Provide families with practical information and strategies to support learning at home
- Maintain accurate service records and provide regular reports to the Executive Principal/CEO or delegate

Essential Criteria

You will have

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech Pathology recognised in Australia
- Preferably current Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status with Speech Pathology Australia, or eligibility to obtain

- Preferably one-year post-graduate clinical experience, although fresh graduates will be considered
- Experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school setting
- Strong assessment, report writing, consultation and family engagement skills

- Ability to work collaboratively and manage service delivery across multiple school sites
- Commitment to supporting AIC’s Islamic ethos and the wellbeing, learning and development of every student
