Tax Accountant

Tax Accountant required by large investment bank – December start – initial 12 month assignment

Key accountabilities:

- Accurate and timely delivery of tax reporting deliverables.

- Prepare distribution calculations, discovery calculations, superannuation fund tax calculations, and tax returns.

- Review and maintenance of client tax profiles and security static data used to drive reporting and tax calculations.

- Reconciliation of investment system to accounting ledger

- Adherence to operational compliance and risk policies.

- Assist in the completion of projects, including testing tax templates.

- Actively participate and contribute to meeting other team deliverables.

- Ensure that client and audit queries are resolved in a timely manner and that any issues are escalated to the Assistant Manager or Manager.

- Assisting with related systems, process or internal change initiatives and process improvements

- Assist in ensuring all procedures and documentation is standardized, up to date and fit for purpose.

- Perform formal supervision and controlled self-assessment testing of procedures and deliverables with our agreed risk management framework.





- Actively support the wider team at peak periods and act as the operational cover for colleagues, including cross training.

Selection criteria:

- Relevant tertiary-level qualifications (i.e. Business or Accounting) including as a qualified accountant (CA/CPA)

- Australian based experience in taxation including knowledge of basic tax accounting principles for financial instruments, trusts, and/or superannuation funds.

- Detailed knowledge of fund accounting, operations of trusts, and/or superannuation funds, and reporting

- Knowledge of operational risk and compliance requirements of the client service function

- Experience using central accounting systems and producing reconciliations

- Demonstrated history of being results focused and excellent attention to detail

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Must have full Australian working rights with no visa restrictions
