CAVBUS Group Logan Coaches is seeking a motivated and reliable Trade Assistant to join our workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and work towards becoming a qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic Apprentice.

Working alongside experienced mechanics, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience maintaining and repairing a modern fleet of buses and coaches while learning from industry professionals.

About the Role

As a Trade Assistant, you will support our workshop team with daily maintenance activities while developing the skills and knowledge required for a successful mechanical career.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist mechanics with servicing and repairs on buses and coaches
- Complete basic maintenance tasks under supervision
- Carry out workshop cleaning and housekeeping duties
- Assist with vehicle inspections and safety checks
- Learn diagnostic and fault-finding processes
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment and parts inventory
- Participate in preventative maintenance programs
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills

About You

We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine interest in mechanical trades and heavy vehicles
- Is reliable,



punctual and eager to learn
- Has good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Can follow instructions and work safely
- Holds a current driver's licence (Must have)
- Willing to obtain an MR or HR license
- Previous workshop, labouring, automotive or trade experience is advantageous but not essential
