Due to ongoing operational requirements, an opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Heavy Diesel Fitter to join their Emerald workshop on a permanent basis.

About the Role This is an excellent chance for an experienced tradesperson looking for a stable, workshop-based position with a highly attractive 7/7 roster.

Working as part of an experienced maintenance team, you'll be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a variety of underground mining equipment and associated mechanical components.

The position offers a diverse range of hands-on mechanical work, with a focus on equipment reliability, quality repairs and safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out mechanical maintenance, servicing and repairs on underground mining equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and undertake effective repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
- Perform component repairs, replacements and mechanical rebuilds.
- Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Undertake preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
- Identify worn or damaged components and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Ensure work is completed to required safety, quality and maintenance standards.
- Maintain accurate service and repair documentation.




- Work collaboratively with the wider workshop team to meet maintenance requirements.

About You We're looking for a reliable, experienced tradesperson with strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to maintenance and repairs. Ideally, you'll bring:

- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Heavy Diesel Fitter, Mobile Plant Mechanic or equivalent.
- Experience maintaining and repairing heavy mining or industrial equipment.
- Previous exposure to underground mining machinery will be highly regarded.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, mechanical components and equipment rebuilds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Experience working on underground mining equipment would be a significant advantage; however, applications from suitably qualified heavy diesel and mechanical fitters with transferable experience are also encouraged.
