UNICORN BROADBEACH SEAFOOD RESTAURANT PTY LTD is seeking enthusiastic and professional Wait/Bar staff to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Broadbeach QLD, this position offers the perfect opportunity to work in a energetic hospitality environment whilst maintaining flexibility with casual employment. As Wait/Bar staff, you will be the face of our restaurant, delivering exceptional customer service whilst managing both front-of-house and bar operations.
This role is integral to creating memorable dining experiences for our guests and maintaining the high standards that define our establishment.
What you'll be doing
- Greeting and seating customers in a warm and professional manner
- Taking food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
- Serving meals and drinks with attention to detail and presentation standards
- Operating the bar, including pouring drinks, mixing cocktails, and managing bar stock
- Processing payments and handling cash or card transactions
- Clearing and resetting tables promptly between seatings
- Maintaining knowledge of menu items, specials, and wine pairings to provide informed recommendations
- Responding to customer requests and resolving any concerns with professionalism and tact
- Adhering to health, safety and food hygiene regulations
- Supporting the broader team with setup, cleanup and general restaurant duties
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a waiting or bar service role, preferably in a busy restaurant or hospitality venue
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tables or bar orders simultaneously
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and etiquette
- Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry trays safely
- Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to commit to scheduled shifts
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a collaborative team
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain it
- Basic knowledge of cocktails and bar techniques is advantageous
