Maitland, Hunter Valley | Tier 2 Head Contractor | Ongoing Opportunity

An established Tier 2 head contractor is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join its delivery team on a major industrial food manufacturing facility in Maitland, NSW.

The project is currently in the civil works stage, with construction programmed through to October 2027. This is a full-time, site-based position with ongoing opportunities within the business.

You'll join a well-resourced project team with strong staff retention, working alongside experienced construction professionals who have been with the business long-term.

The Role

Working closely with the Operations Manager, Project Manager and Site Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day safety across the project.

The works involve a range of high-risk construction activities, including precast installation, structural steel, heavy plant and machinery, substation and electrical works, and deep excavations.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing site safety compliance, inspections and reporting.

Overseeing high-risk construction activities and associated safety controls.
-
Reviewing SWMS, risk assessments and safe work procedures.
-
Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks and inductions.
-
Working closely with subcontractors and the delivery team to maintain safe work practices.
-
Managing incident investigations and corrective actions.
-
Supporting proactive safety planning and risk mitigation.

About You

-
Experience as an HSE Advisor or Safety Advisor within commercial or industrial construction.
-
Ideally, a background working for a head contractor.
-
Strong understanding of high-risk construction activities.
-




Certificate IV in WHS or Diploma of WHS.
-
Confident working with subcontractors and site management teams.
-
Practical, proactive and comfortable working full-time on site in Maitland.
