The Company and Overview of the Role

Competitive Advantage HRM & Recruitment is hiring on behalf of an established and fast-growing financial planning firm based at Kirra Beach, now seeking an experienced Senior Digital Systems Engineer to take ownership of its internal digital systems and technology environment.

Working directly with the CEO on a daily basis, you will be responsible for designing, building and continuously improving the new bespoke company portal. This is not a traditional IT support or vendor-management role. All design, development, automation and platform ownership will be handled in-house. You will turn ideas into working solutions and own delivery from concept through to launch, support and improvement.

This is a fast-paced and hands-on role suited to someone with a start-up and hackathon mentality who enjoys building solutions, testing ideas and delivering measurable results. You will need to work independently, adapt to changing priorities and balance speed with security, quality and compliance.

The company operates on Apple hardware and macOS, and the successful candidate must be comfortable designing, building and supporting systems in an Apple-based workplace.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

- Work directly with the CEO on a daily basis
- Design, build and maintain the bespoke company portal
- Create features, workflows, integrations and automations in-house
- Turn business needs into practical digital solutions
- Work across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Power Platform,



CRM and related systems
- Apply AI and automation to improve productivity, quality and consistency
- Test ideas quickly and improve them using feedback and results
- Maintain secure, reliable and well-documented systems
- Resolve technical issues and eliminate recurring problems
- Ensure systems meet financial services security, privacy and compliance requirements
- Take full ownership without relying on vendors, MSPs or outsourced technical teams

About the Candidate

Essential

- Experience designing and building internal platforms, portals or business systems
- Strong experience supporting and integrating Apple-based business environments, including macOS devices and their interaction with Microsoft 365, identity, security and automation systems
- Strong capability across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID and Power Platform
- Experience with integrations, APIs, scripting and automation
- Practical experience implementing AI in business operations
- Strong cybersecurity, identity-management and data-protection knowledge
- Ability to manage the complete technical environment internally
- A record of delivering measurable business improvements
- Clear communication and solid technical documentation skills

Desirable

- Experience with Dataverse, Dynamics or comparable CRM platforms
- Previous experience working within financial services or another regulated industry
- Knowledge of Australian privacy, cybersecurity and financial-advice requirements
- Experience working directly with founders, CEOs or senior decision-makers

Working Arrangement

This is a permanent, full-time, in-house role based at the office in Kirra, Gold Coast. Daily face-to-face collaboration with the CEO is essential. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
