Prestart Consultant | Residential Home Builders

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Prestart Consultant to join a leading residential builder. Working as part of the pre-construction team, you will guide clients through the prestart process, helping them personalise their homes while ensuring all selections, variations, contracts, and documentation are accurately prepared for construction.

This is a client-facing role that combines customer service, administration, and technical coordination. You will work closely with drafting, estimating, scheduling, construction, and sales teams to ensure a smooth transition from contract signing through to site commencement.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage clients throughout the prestart phase, providing an outstanding customer experience.
- Facilitate prestart appointments and guide clients through product selections, upgrades, and design choices.
- Prepare and process variations, upgrades, and pricing amendments.
- Prepare addenda and contract amendments where required.
- Review building contracts and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with contract signing appointments and explain variations, inclusions, and building documentation to clients.
- Liaise with drafting, estimating, scheduling, and construction teams to ensure all project information is accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate documentation required for building approvals and construction commencement.
- Ensure all client selections, colour choices, and variations are entered accurately into company systems.
- Manage multiple building files while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
- Respond to client enquiries throughout the pre-construction process and provide regular updates.




- Review plans and documentation to identify discrepancies, omissions, or potential issues prior to construction.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, building regulations, and contractual requirements.

Skills & Experience

- Previous experience as a Prestart Consultant within residential construction.
- Strong understanding of the residential building process from sales through to construction.
- Experience preparing variations, addenda, contract amendments, and pre-construction documentation.
- Knowledge of residential building contracts and construction terminology.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience using residential construction software and CRM systems.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
