Our lawyers work on quality matters with real responsibility, work directly with partners and build long-term client relationships. The role Working with one of our partners and our senior lawyers, you will support our commercial leasing practice and build your skills on real matters from the start: Assist on files for a range of clients, including substantial family offices, developers, shopping centre owners and industry-leading business groups in the retail, hospitality, childcare and aged care sectors Draft and review leases, agreements for lease and related documents for landlords, tenants and developers, with guidance and feedback from senior lawyers Support retail, commercial, shopping centre and development matters, including due diligence, searches, lodgements and settlement tasks Prepare correspondence, mark-ups and file notes,



and take part in negotiations with counterparties as your experience grows Build your own client contact over time, starting with day-to-day communication on your matters About you Newly admitted or up to 2 years’ PQE, with an interest in property and commercial leasing (leasing, property or commercial paralegal experience is an advantage) Admitted in NSW (or eligible for admission) with a current practising certificate Strong drafting skills and a careful eye for detail Transparent, confident communicator who is comfortable dealing with clients Well organised and proactive, and keen to ask questions and take on feedback A team player who wants to build a long-term career in property law Why MEL Direct partner access and real responsibility from early in your career Hands-on training and mentoring from experienced senior lawyers A growing firm (the product of a merger in early 2026) A collaborative team with a clear path to progression Competitive remuneration
