About Us:
Andi-Co Australia is a family-owned importer and distributor of premium European and soon to be US appliances for household and qualified applications across Australia, since 1982.
Providing Australia with Falcon and AGA range cookers from the UK, custom-made La Cornue range cookers from France, Novy induction cooktops from Belgium and Liebherr refrigeration (residential and qualified) from Germany, we provide top of the range appliances and service to our customers. And have new brands from the US launching soon.
To support our strategic growth, we are currently seeking an experienced Workshop and Technical Supervisor to join our passionate and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity, and one that will play a key role in recovering value from returned stock and lifting technical capability across our service network.
About the Role:
As our Workshop and Technical Supervisor, you’ll run our returns workshop and be the go-to technical expert across the business. That means diagnosing, testing and repairing returned units — particularly refrigeration — so they can be resold, keeping the workshop moving every day, and making sure our returns process is followed from start to finish. Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, you’ll work closely with our Customer Experience, Product, Demand Planning and Warehouse teams, as well as our network of service agents — turning technical know-how into recovered revenue, faster resolutions and better-trained teams.
This is a role for someone who’s equally comfortable diagnosing a fault on the workshop bench, running the morning toolbox meeting and leading a training session for our After Sales Support team.
Responsibilities:
Workshop & Returns Management
- Lead the returns workshop day to day, ensuring units are received, triaged, tested and repaired in line with our returns process, with a 24-hour turnaround
- Create and complete all workshop repair jobs in Pronto, our ERP system
- Inspect and approve repaired units for resale through our B-stock shop, using our approved quality checklist
- Approve reworks using our spare parts approval tool,
in line with agreed cost and profit guidelines
- Manage spare parts usage within budget, working with Demand Planning to keep parts and accessories in stock
- Plan workshop resourcing and manage labour to cover repair peaks and troughs, including planned leave
- Keep workshop equipment maintained and available so returns keep moving without bottlenecks
Technical Support & Leadership
- Be the first point of call for technical queries from service agents and our After Sales Support team — by phone, email and ticket
- Provide technical direction to our Product and After Sales Support teams on servicing, maintenance and product improvement
- Coordinate rework programs with the Chief Operating Officer, Technical Support Coordinator and our suppliers
- Work closely with our Customer Experience team so our After Sales Support team is backed on every technical issue
Training & Capability
- Lead our weekly “Lunch and Learn” program for the After Sales Support team, and work with our Product Manager on a monthly training calendar and support materials
- Lead, guide and train workshop technical contractors, making sure weekly repair targets are met
Safety, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Keep the workshop a safe work zone 100% of the time, in line with WorkSafe standards, and role model safety-first behaviour
- Report weekly on repairs, write-offs and parts usage, and help consolidate monthly supplier claims
- Analyse workshop data to measure how well our returns and warranty processes are working, flagging issues early
- Drive improvements across the workshop and returns process using Lean principles and new technology
What we’re Looking For:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar technical role,
including technical management within the appliance industry
- Solid hands-on diagnostic and repair experience with refrigeration appliances (essential); experience with cooking appliances highly regarded
- Licence in Electrical, Plumbing and/or Gas Fitting; a refrigerant handling licence (ARCtick) highly regarded
- Proven track record leading technical teams and driving product improvement initiatives
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making
- A leader who inspires and motivates teams to deliver outstanding results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence delivering training
- Strong organisational and time management skills, able to prioritise competing demands
- Confident with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word; experience with Pronto or a similar ERP system highly regarded
- Willingness to travel as needed to engage with service agents
Why Join Andi-Co?
- Key role reporting directly to our Chief Operating Officer, with real influence over how we manage returns and technical support
- Work hands-on with world-class brands including Liebherr, Falcon, La Cornue, AGA and Novy — and be first across new products before they launch
- A collaborative, values-driven team that backs continuous improvement and innovation
- Oakleigh-based with on-site presence — well-equipped workshop, close-knit culture
Our Mission & Values:
Our mission is People First, Evolving Always, brought to life through our values of Curiosity, Trust and Unity. It’s this mindset that shapes how we work together and look after our employees, customers and suppliers every day.
If you’re a hands-on technical leader with strong refrigeration know-how, who loves solving complex problems, sharing your knowledge and finding better ways of working — we’d love to hear from you.
Apply now with your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your achievements and experience in technical leadership, refrigeration and appliance repair, and workshop management.
