SAS Systems Administrator
We are seeking an experienced Senior SAS Systems Administrator to join a large-scale enterprise environment supporting critical data and analytics platforms.
This role is ideal for an infrastructure-focused SAS specialist with strong experience administering and supporting SAS Viya, SAS VEA, and associated platform environments. You will play a key role in maintaining platform stability, performance, security, and availability while contributing to ongoing enhancements and operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support SAS platforms, including SAS Viya and SAS VEA
- Monitor system health, availability, performance, and capacity
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents and system issues
- Plan, test and implement platform upgrades, patches and enhancements
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing and readiness activities
- Develop and maintain operational documentation and procedures
- Automate administration tasks through scripting and tooling where appropriate
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members
- Deliver specialist advice on SAS infrastructure and platform optimisation
Essential Experience
- Demonstrated experience administering SAS environments in enterprise settings
- Strong hands-on experience with SAS Viya and/or SAS VEA
- Experience managing Linux/Unix-based infrastructure platforms
- Robust incident, problem and change management skills
- Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning and capacity planning
- Knowledge of disaster recovery, backup and resilience practices
- Ability to prepare technical documentation and operational procedures
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable
- Experience within large government or highly regulated environments
- Scripting and automation experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline
