About the role

Zero81 Napoli Ristorante and Pizzeria is seeking an experienced Chef de partie to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis in Hobart, Tasmania. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic Italian restaurant environment, where you'll take responsibility for a specific station or section of our kitchen. As Chef de partie, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation that define our restaurant. This position offers the chance to develop your culinary skills whilst working within a structured kitchen hierarchy, directly supporting the Head Chef and contributing to the overall success of Zero81 Napoli.

Key responsibilities

- Manage and oversee your assigned station, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards and in line with Zero81 Napoli's culinary vision

- Prepare quality ingredients and components for your station before service begins

- Execute recipes and cooking techniques with precision, maintaining consistency across all dishes

- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations

- Monitor portion sizes and ingredient usage to maintain cost control and reduce waste

- Collaborate with other members of the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during busy periods

- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff on your station, providing guidance and feedback

- Ensure all equipment on your station is properly maintained, cleaned, and stored

- Respond promptly to feedback from the Head Chef and make adjustments to maintain quality standards





- Contribute ideas for menu development and innovative dishes that align with our Italian cuisine speciality

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Chef de partie or in a similar senior kitchen position within a professional restaurant environment

- Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and cooking techniques, with particular expertise in pizza preparation and wood-fired cooking preferred

- Excellent knife skills and proficiency with standard kitchen equipment

- Comprehensive understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations, and HACCP principles

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times whilst maintaining quality standards

- Solid communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff

- Leadership qualities and the ability to mentor junior kitchen staff

- Attention to detail with a commitment to consistent excellence in food presentation and flavour

- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work part-time hours including evenings and weekends

- Current food safety certification or willingness to obtain one
