The Role

As a Maintenance Officer in aged care, you will play an important role in ensuring the home remains safe, functional, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and staff. Working closely with the leadership team, you will support the day-to-day maintenance, safety, and presentation of the facility, contributing to a comfortable and homelike setting for older people. Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct environmental safety audits and address identified hazards and maintenance concerns
- Complete planned preventative maintenance in line with schedules and compliance requirements
- Respond to corrective maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Perform general maintenance tasks and coordinate external contractors where required
- Assist with room setups, equipment moves, and maintaining safe workspaces
- Maintain grounds and gardens to a clean, tidy, and safe standard
- Support effective waste management practices, including coordination of specialised waste services
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and escalate critical safety issues as required

This is a permanent part-time position offering 32 hours per fortnight.

You’ll Have:

- Previous experience in as a Maintenance Officer
- Trade Certificate (desirable)
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks
- Unlimited working rights in Australia – MANDATORY
- NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing to obtain
- Ability to operate gardening tools and equipment safely
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces
- A compassionate and patient nature, with an understanding of working in an aged care environment
