We are seeking a caring, patient and reliable male or female support worker to provide after-school support for a 12-year-old boy who is non-verbal and lives in Tarneit, Victoria.
The aim of the support is to help him develop his confidence, independence and everyday life skills in a safe, positive and supportive setting.
Support will focus on:
-Building his confidence when accessing and participating in community activities.
-Developing personal hygiene and self-care routines.
-Encouraging independence with everyday tasks and daily living skills.
-Supporting social engagement and community participation.
-Building a positive, trusting relationship at his own pace.
-We are looking for someone who:
-Can be either male or female.
-Is patient, gentle, caring and understanding.
-Has a soft-spoken manner and speaks clearly.
-Is reliable, approachable and genuinely enjoys supporting young people.
-Has experience supporting children with additional needs or non-verbal communication (preferred).
Location: Tarneit, VIC
Hours: After school (Mon - Fri 3pm-5pm might extend later on).
