We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team and contribute to the ongoing development and efficient operation of our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

- Planning, developing, and reviewing menus in consultation with management, considering customer preferences, seasonal ingredients, and operational requirements.
- Preparing and cooking a variety of Middle Eastern grilled dishes, kebabs, pizzas, and other menu items, while ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
- Developing and refining recipes, signature marinades, spice blends, and specialised cooking techniques to enhance flavour, consistency, and menu variety.
- Monitoring food preparation processes to maintain high standards of taste, portion control, and presentation.
- Managing food costs, estimating ingredient requirements, and assisting with menu pricing and cost control.
- Monitoring inventory levels, ordering ingredients and supplies, and ensuring proper storage and stock rotation.
- Overseeing daily kitchen operations and coordinating food preparation to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and established hygiene procedures.




- Providing guidance and training to kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen safety procedures.
- Monitoring the quality of ingredients and finished dishes, addressing any inconsistencies to maintain restaurant standards.
- Collaborating with management to improve kitchen efficiency, minimise food waste, and maintain customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience:

- A minimum of one year of full-time skilled experience as a Chef in a restaurant or commercial kitchen, together with a relevant qualification (such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Certificate IV in Kitchen Management); or a minimum of three years of relevant full-time professional experience as a Chef in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience in menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
- Sound knowledge of Australian food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and safe food-handling practices.
- Ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently and maintain consistent food quality under pressure.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Experience in inventory management, food costing, and coordinating kitchen activities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Familiarity with Middle Eastern (particularly Persian/Iranian) cuisine would be advantageous.
