Remuneration: $71,550 - $80,000 commensurate with skills and experience, plus superannuation.

1. POSITION PURPOSE

The Storeperson is responsible for the safe and efficient receipt, storage, inventory control, picking, packing and dispatch of goods within the warehouse.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Receiving and Goods Handling

- Receive and verify incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages or discrepancies and report issues to the supervisor.
- Safely unload vehicles using approved manual handling techniques and equipment.

Storage and Inventory Control

- Store goods safely in designated locations.
- Maintain accurate stock records using warehouse or inventory systems.
- Rotate stock in accordance with FIFO/FEFO requirements.
- Assist with stocktakes and inventory checks.

Order Picking, Packing and Dispatch

- Accurately pick orders using approved systems and devices.
- Check products meet customer and food safety requirements.
- Pack, weigh and prepare goods for dispatch.
- Verify orders against documentation before dispatch.
- Assist with loading vehicles and securing goods for transport.
- Assist with delivery of goods to customers.

Equipment Operation

- Operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and hand trucks, where trained and authorised.
- Operate forklifts or other powered equipment where appropriately licensed and authorised.




- Complete pre-start equipment checks and report faults or safety concerns.
- Comply with all warehouse traffic management and safety procedures.

3. FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Comply with food safety procedures, policies and hygiene requirements.
- Maintain appropriate storage conditions, including temperature-controlled products.
- Follow stock rotation and expiry-date procedures.
- Keep storage and work areas clean and hygienic.
- Immediately report contamination, damaged packaging, temperature breaches or other food safety concerns.

4. WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY

- Comply with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Use PPE and follow safe manual handling practices.
- Operate equipment only when trained and authorised.
- Report hazards, incidents, injuries, near misses and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain safe storage practices and follow emergency procedures.

5. EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS

The Storeperson may be required to use:

- Warehouse management and inventory systems
- Computers, tablets and handheld scanners
- Picking systems
- Pallet jacks, hand trucks and order-picking equipment
- Forklifts (where licensed and authorised)
- Weighing,



loading and unloading equipment
- Other warehouse and materials handling equipment

6. GENERAL DUTIES

- Perform other reasonable duties consistent with the position, skills, training and competency.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

- Minimum 12 months' experience in a storeperson role.
- Fitness for work: Ability to safely perform manual handling tasks such as frequent bending, lifting, pushing and pulling.
- Ability to follow picking lists, procedures and workplace instructions.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn warehouse systems.
- Commitment to workplace health, safety and food safety requirements.
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Desirable

- Experience in food service, grocery, wholesale or distribution environments.
- Forklift licence.
- Experience using warehouse management or inventory systems.

Note: Kununurra is a remote location with an extreme climate. Temperatures often exceed 40 degrees Celsius with high humidity. Drug and alcohol testing may be conducted with zero tolerance for intoxication at any time.
