About Us

Mike's Property Maintenance & Construction is a Perth-based building business specialising in residential renovations, extensions, commercial fit-outs, refurbishments, property maintenance and general building works.

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis, working across a variety of residential and commercial construction projects throughout the Perth metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine material requirements, dimensions and installation procedures.
- Select, measure, cut, shape and assemble timber and other suitable building materials.
- Construct and install timber framework, wall frames, partitions, floor structures and roof framing in accordance with supplied plans and specifications.
- Install sub-flooring, floorboards, door and window frames, fascia boards, cladding and associated building components.
- Assemble timber and steel components to form structures and fittings ready for installation.
- Prepare and construct formwork for concrete works where required.
- Check measurements, alignment, levels and accuracy of completed carpentry work.
- Undertake carpentry alterations, repairs and modifications to existing buildings as part of renovations and extensions.




- Assist with the coordination and guidance of apprentices and other team members where appropriate.
- Work alongside other trades to support efficient project delivery.
- Undertake other reasonable construction-related duties consistent with the role.
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements and maintain a safe and orderly work workplace.

Skills and Experience

- Relevant carpentry trade qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in residential or commercial carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Experience with timber framing, roof structures, renovations and general carpentry installations.
- Competence in using hand and power tools.
- Good understanding of building practices and workplace safety.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Current driver's licence.

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

Pay: $35.00 – $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 per week
