The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and mechanical systems to ensure secure, reliable and efficient operation.Key responsibilitiesDiagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines, vehicles and associated components using diagnostic equipment and testing proceduresInspect, maintain, service and repair diesel engines and mechanical systemsDismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble engines, transmissions, gearboxes, braking systems, steering systems and other mechanical componentsPerform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical inspectionsRepair or replace defective parts, including fuel injectors, pumps, filters, belts, bearings and engine componentsTest and adjust diesel fuel injection systems,



engine management systems and emission control componentsConduct diagnostic testing and road testing to identify faults and verify completed repairsPerform engine tune-ups, adjustments and mechanical repairs in accordance with manufacturer specificationsMaintain accurate records of servicing, repairs, inspections and parts usedEnsure all work complies with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant industry standardsAbout youMinimum AQF Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology, Diesel Motor Mechanic or a closely related automotive mechanical qualificationMinimum 12 months of relevant employment experience working as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or in a closely related roleDemonstrated experience diagnosing, servicing and repairing diesel engines and associated mechanical systemsSound knowledge of diesel engine technology, automotive mechanical systems and diagnostic equipmentAbility to interpret technical specifications and perform mechanical repairs independentlyStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and commitment to workplace safetyAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamCurrent driver's licence is highly regarded #J-18808-Ljbffr
