The Grounds person plays a key role working within the Property Maintenance Team ensuring the College grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard. The role is accountable to the Business Manager and reports directly to the Property Maintenance Manager.

This is a full-time, ongoing position commencing as soon as practicable.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

· A strong commitment to the ethos of Catholic education and a willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the Lumen Christi College community.

· Previous experience in groundskeeping, gardening or general maintenance.

· Experience operating and maintaining gardening machinery and equipment.

· Ability to undertake basic property maintenance and repairs.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

· Current C Class WA Driver's Licence.





· Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain.

· Completed, or willing to complete, Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School.

· Solid work ethic and positive attitude.

· Maintain professionalism with students, parents, staff and visitors.

Desirable

- Certificate II or III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or a related field.

- Experience working in a school environment.

- Experience maintaining sporting grounds and reticulation systems.

- Current First Aid Certificate.

- MR/HR Driver's Licence.
